Press the mixture into the bottom of the dish or pan and slightly up the sides. This crust will fit into a 9 â 10 inch pan. Mix crumbs, butter, and sugar in a bowl. Press mixture into a 9-inch pie plate. Use a spoon to press the crumbs up the side of the plate and the side of your hand to press down on the top. Refrigerate at least 1. If making a double batch of the crumb crust for an 9' x 13', oblong baking dish, adjust the baking time accordingly (about 10 - 12 min). Allow crust to cool before adding pie filling, unless the recipe directions indicate differently.
